Bringing MIT blueprint to Singapore's R&D ecosystem

Having observed developments over the previous five-year roadmaps for R&D in Singapore, Dr. Howard Califano, director of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Innovation Centre, believes that the new phase of commercialization that began in 2011 is “progressing nicely,” pointing out that Singapore has proved it can create well-funded institutions that produce world-class research.
