On 21 January 2025, SMART’s Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) interdisciplinary research group (IRG) hosted its bi-annual workshop, bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds to share their progress and exchange ideas. The event served as a vital platform for the IRG’s lab technologists, research engineers, postdoctoral associates, and research scientists to present their research findings from the past six months, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration across different disciplines.
A highlight of the workshop was the researcher talk competition, where both junior and senior researchers delivered informative talks. These presentations showcased the depth of ongoing research and reflected the dedication of the team in pushing scientific boundaries.

AMR also hosted external speakers from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), who gave talks on advanced topics such as drug discovery and machine learning. Their insights provided valuable perspectives and sparked meaningful discussions among attendees. The workshop concluded with a lightning talk competition for researchers to present new ideas and project directions, enhancing the innovative spirit within the community.
Following a full day of learning and collaboration, the AMR team gathered for a celebratory dinner. The workshop was a success, reinforcing their commitment to scientific excellence, teamwork, and the fight against AMR for a more resilient future.
